History
Larian Studios is an award winning independent computer game developer located in Belgium, specializing in the development of epic computer role playing games and online 3D communities for broadcasters.
Our portfolio includes the games set in the Divinity universe (winning multiple RPG awards) and the record-breaking kids interactive communities produced for such broadcasters as the BBC(UK public broadcaster), the VRT (Belgian public broadcaster), NRK (Norwegian national broadcaster) and a French commercial broadcaster.
Currently we’re working on next generation versions of our broadcasting platform and a multi-platform next generation RPG.
Profile
Larian Studios is a strongly technology and innovation driven company and has several partnerships with the academic and R&D world. While we prefer to use middleware where possible, we are constantly investing in new promising technology. We are approved developers for the Xbox360 and PS3 platforms and have been developing our in-house RPG technology since 1997, giving us a unique advantage over other developers who don’t have RPG experience, traditionally one of the hardest genres to develop.
Our team consists of 41 core members and additionally we have a large network of freelancers which we use to ramp up the production. We also have experience in working with outsourcing companies, having established several relationships.
