I bought this game a little while ago, but never even played it. I figured it was the typical junk I have been fed lately, so I didn't have much interest. So I started playing the other day, and now I am at about 30 hours in, go figure.
This might be the best sleeper game of the year (or best overall, possibly). It has depth, and lots of it. I have had zero bugs in 30 hours of game play. That's rather amazing to me. Zero with a capital Z, and I am the type of guy to push a game into bugging out. The graphics are really nice, performance is great, and the sound is realistic enough to make my dog bark sometimes (and me glance over my shoulder). And there is just so much content that its hard to stop playing.
This game sets the bar pretty high for one that flies under the radar. It is better, and more importantly, more fun and engrossing, than most games I have bought in the last couple of years. I just wish it had an active modding community, because the engine is really great (oh did I mention the animations rock? Bethesda needs to take note!).
Just my two cents, and I hope to see some DLC in the future.

Cheers for the praise, Modster1, and welcome to the forum!
I am in blood Stepp'd in so far, that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o'er.

I also agree, but no Elves to buttsecks? NO to DLC idea. Addons are easier to buy and have much more content and depth, and they aren't a rip off (check Dragon Age or Mass Effect, or even that unfamous Stimulus Package from CoD - only fanatics enjoy paying money for basically nothing). Animations rock? Because I really don't think so. There is not enough of them for talking, and jumping doesn't really look very convincing. And I agree, but it's not just Divinity 2 - both Divinity games (I don't count Beyond Divinity a divinity game, this filthy piece of heresy is definitely NOT a Divinity game and nobody will convince me otherwise) aren't well known, but if you do know them, you love them, unless you are/were a complete graphicfag. In case of DD1 - graphics were downpar even when it was released. Graphic side of the game was still better than that of Beyond Divinity... Gosh, that 3d was freaking awful! Even Quake and Half-Life, both being some of the first games to use full 3d, had better models, and they were released what, 5-9 years before BD? I don't care about graphics (I even still play oldies like Half-Life 1, Jazz Jackrabbit and others like that), but gameplay sucked, there was no freedom, and it felt like a bad, failed cousin of Divine Divinity. Even BARRELS were unbreakable! Divine Divinity was praised for all it's possibilities, freedom, nice story and humor (and good fight system too). Beyond Divinity took ALL THAT away, maybe except story, and it gave nothing in return. In DD, don't want to stay in Aleroth? Fine, go and die by Orcs' hand... Unless you are a Mage, then abuse Meteor, or unless you have a bow, they will never catch up to you... Yeah, DD had it's faults, but BD is a suckage full of bugs, where you can just FEEL that Larian didn't care at all about all this. They had good story, but they just made the game horrible! Not to mention balancing failed. Fire Elementals in chapter 3 (didn't got far in that game, sucked too much) being level 1, oneshooted by you, giving you no experience... What was the point of even putting them there? Zandalor being level 1 and almost dying after being shot by some elemental? If I invited more of them there, he'd die. Nice try tons o' fun... After seeing THIS heresy on the pile of other faults and the game itself being horrible, I just closed BD and read a bit how it ends. Story was good, but story alone won't save a game.

I enjoyed some of the DLC for Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age
Specifically Lair of the Shadow Broker and Witch hunt. But that was about it.

But most of them were much too short, especially in the case of "whoopy doo, a new item" as was too often the case. Rather sad to see that sort of thing is still being practised as I don't recall too many people saying "we must have more content like Horse Armour!" back in the day, for instance. But even considering some of the better DLC, I prefer to see proper full-size expansions rather than dribs and drabs that tend to be DLC's hallmark, things like the Shivering Isles for Oblivion and Bloodmoon for Morrowind. And, indeed, Flames of Vengeance. And it's not just the value for money element when it comes to micro-DLC (or rather the lack thereof) but that it sucks that just as you're getting into it, that's it, it's over.

Some of the Mass Effect 2 DLC was great though. I fell in love with the Kasumi character, and Lair of the Shadow Broker really was needed imo.

Witch Hunt was much better than I'd been led to expect; still too short, but I enjoyed it a lot. Same with Kasumi, which for no readily apparent reason I'd thought I'd dislike but didn't. I think one of the nice things about Mass Effect is that not everybody is the stereotypical (and often dull) special forces type. Still haven't played Shadow Broker yet. I've no idea why, other than being compulsively disorganised.
