I've asked about other items, but do extra Keys you have in your inventory carry over to FoV, or are they cleared out of your inventory when you start FoV content, like quest items are?

They are cleared. As is Vacca's Gem, and possibly a few other items.

Do you have any ideas what other item(s) are cleared?

I suppose items like the +5 INT potion and other ED unique item... but I didn't keep that one around obviously.
Not Drudanae though, since it also appears in FoV (but is useless but selling for gold).

I lost my old saves, so I can't tell any items for certain, sorry.
(well, besides Vacca's of course)

This is from a guide in the Tips/Hints section under a sticky, which I would suggest everyone read if you are into that sorta thing *cough* spoilers *cough* And definitely read if you have finished the game as there is a good bit of information in there that the casual player wouldn't know. (:

1.4 - EGO DRACONIS TO FLAMES OF VENGEANCE TRANSITION
=====================================
After finishing Ego Draconis, the game will automatically transition to Flames
of Vengeance. Certain things happen in this change.

----------------
THINGS THAT ARE LOST:
----------------
-Entire contents of the Quest Log. All complete and in progress quests are
permanently deleted from your logbook).

-Entire contents of the Conversation and Battle Logs. All recorded
conversations and battle data is permanently deleted from your logbook).

-Quest Item list is emptied of ALL items, including ones that could still
be used (coin purses, skill point books, etc.).

-The Master Chamber Shrine is destroyed, cutting off all access to Sentinel
Island and the bottom floors of the Battle Tower itself.

-Some non-quest items are also removed from the game, including:
Vacca's Gem

-The opportunity to upgrade your Battle Tower platforms. The upgrades are
part of your reward for completing your servants' quests, and are lost once
those quests are removed from your log.

----------------
THINGS THAT STAY:
----------------
-Entire contents of the Monster Log (a.k.a. Trophy Log) are retained.

-All quest-related weapons, armor, and jewelry (despite the fact normal quest
items are removed).

-All non-quest inventory items, both in your possession and stored, are kept,
with the exception of any listed above.

-The two quest items Dragon Stone, and Crystal Skull.

Actually, I wrote that list myself. It's an excerpt from my guide, and incomplete until I actually reach that point in the game mysef.

Then I would assume you know the answer to your own question since you did write that part. Though you haven't actually reached that point, so there's really no confirmation... I would assume Keys don't stay, but I also haven't reached that far in the game, so~ I can't help you unless I find something to link you to that provides us both with the answer. ^^;

Keys don't stay.
I still had a fair bunch when starting FoV, and they were all gone.

Stat/Skill Books seem odd. Then again, I didn't keep any around, ever, using them instantly on finding them. Maybe I should try it if I find one remaining in what I am still left to do in ED (once continuing).

I'm doing a quick run-through to the beginning of FoV (from a save before the Battle Tower) to check if a bunch of various items carry over. Items I'm testing:
-Quest item equipment (like Arben's Sword, Tagos' Axe, Jonah's Necklace, etc)
-Skill Book (both the normal and servant reward versions)
-Stats Book
-Dragon Skill Book
-Lever Handles (both optional ones)
-Junk items (including the two Hammers in High Hall)
-Potion of Wisdom

And anything else I can think to try.

So I decided to give it away this time, before killing all Dragon Slayers laugh.

Are servant skill books different? :?

Normal skill books you pick up in places have a different icon in the menu, and have some flavor text. The skill books rewarded for servant quests have no text.

And quest equipment like Arben's Sword don't count towards your item limit, so the only problem having it in your inventory can cause is it being in the way physically.

Ok, just checked a bunch of other items:
-Skill Books (both versions), Stats Books, and Dragon Skill Books all carry over.

-The Potion of Wisdom is lost.

-All keys are lost (including special named ones, like Small Key).

-All items in the "quest items" inventory are lost except Dragon Stone and Crystal Skull. This includes items you could potentially still use, like coin purses and skill point books (Ancient Journal and The Demon Wars).

-All junk items (like Pan, Mug, Plate, etc.) are lost.

-Assorted "special" items are lost, such as Hammer, Vacca's Gem, extra Lever Handles, and so forth. Hardly a loss, but I quite fancied my collection...

-All quest equipment is retained.

-All books are lost. All of them. Of every kind. Love is over. This includes both normal books, and the scrolls found in a few places.

-The Battle Tower is changed to its FoV version. This removes the treasure chests (including Laiken's chest, if you mindread him), breaks the shrine, and removes everyone's mindread potential (if you hadn't mindread them alreadt). All servants and upgrades are in place, though, as one would expect. The visual upgrades to the Workshop are removed, but the other three retain their visual upgrades (more blood in Necromancy, and more hanging plants in Alchemy).

In addition, there are some scenes that better illuminate events between ED and FoV that are only seen if you complete ED and progress to FoV (namely, the scenes involving Damian). Starting a new game in FoV won't show these scenes, despite the fact they didn't appear in the ED release of the game (sort of screwing over players who played ED and just wanted to finish FoV on this release).
