I don't know how they did it with Diablo but they actually seem to match the monster toughness to the character's toughness for gameplay. The other thing that I like, although a lot of people don't, is monster's are regenerated when you leave the game and they're selected randomly(you don't see the same monster in the same place everytime except for the really bad one's). I hope DD 2 has some of thes features. If you could turn that feature on/off it would be even better.

Yes, I guess Weekends are generally better.

By the way, has anybody of you ever imagined playing 2 through the Internet ?

Cathan's traps is a good low level sorceress set. Although any character can wear the pieces, it includes a staff.
I love set items. It's always exciting to see that neon green color when the item drops.

that's what makes diablo2 soo addictive for me.
the psychological need to find every set. to complete things

and i think will give ous the same level of item fever

prior 1.10 I was collecting set items for a while too, but never finished it.
I had the complete aldurs set (druid specific) but sold the armor for a good price.
I still have the Immortal King set though

I'm still searching for the IK (Immortal King) armor, and since 1.10 i need the full IK set besides the helmet again. (In 1.10 IK set gets specific set bonusses, making it a lot better )

well, i hope not! personally that's the very thing that ruined my diablo games as it's never the character that makes the difference, but the items. if that's the case, why bother developing characters other than levelling up enough to equip the items? what RRR should have is more adventures & quests. more than DD.

More or less you are right, and not, at the same time !

That game (I hate writing that name, so I don't) definitively takes some of it's replay value from those items - it's a very big appeal to the collector in every one of us (or at least almost).

The other thing is, that with the RPG-typical elements, it's still some kind of RPG game (I write "RPG games", although that's not correct, from a literal point of view).

So - there are at least two parts making that that "phenomenon D." : Collecting and Roleplay in form of the "Hack 'n' Slash" sub-genre.

people like to collect things.
i found that out to be something universal.

it's like it's some ancient instickt inbedded within ous.

so a game who gives ous the change of giving ours items too find, verry rare and unique ones, will have my attention.
espacialy if there is a full list of all the special items.

ofcours not only items will make a good game. i know was a good game , but the items weer abit too randomized.
will have solme full sets of unique items. wich i intent to find

For me personaly it was not the items that runed diablo2 for me in the long run. it was its repeatability.
kill monsters heal, kill monsters heal.
no real interaction between the worlds...

i wandering still how would these unique items in like the ghost armorset, be found?
will it appear randomly if you slain a monster or are they hidden in fixt places or is it all quest related. and will the armor be comming in 1 packetsh or does we have to find it separtly?

Guess I'm more gremlin than human then I really really don't give a damn about special items... Unique armor? As long as I have decent armor I'm happy -- Don't even care if it suits me (or my avatar)

Well, the funny thing is that Unique and other rather items are better, the more rare they are.
