I'm currently playing a game I started with patch 1.42 installed, and am in Act 2. With new problems cropping up in every patch (now the Sharpen Skill problem in 1.43), I'm almost afraid to upgrade to 1.43. Things are going pretty well, and I am NOT starting over (this is my 4th restart).

How stable is this new patch? Should I chance it or not? Opinions welcome.

Regards,
Michael

P.S. In my 20 years of playing games, BD is by far, the buggiest game I've ever personally been affected by. It is a great game, and I'm having fun, now that things are pretty stable for me, but the game should not have been released as it was. Too many bugs that clearly should have been caught in testing. Just my two cents.

I would definately install 1.43... The main reason is that the weight issue has been fixed. There is nothing worse than fighting the final boss totally encumbered even with nothing but potions in your inventory.

The big problems that you can avoid are just do not use your summoning dolls, and do not use the Sharpen skill.

What weight issue? Is this a bug relegated to just the last act, or the final battle, or is supposed to be there throughout the game? I haven't noticed any real weight issue!

Any info is appreciated.

The issue that would cause an "orange" Necklace to weigh over 300, and a Ring to weigh close to that. I have not seen this with the new patch so far. The "orange" items I have so far in this game are normal weights.

I noticed the weight issue big time. My two rings and necklace weighed more then the rest of my wearable items put together. I'm glad that is fixed along with the bug preventing me from leaving the battlefield. I am only in Act III also, so it just wasn't the last act.

Safe to assume you didn't buy Ultima IX when it came out then... But, yeah, BD is up there.

BTW, 1.43 does seem to be an improvement over 1.42. Minus the sharpen thing I haven't read about a single new problem, and some really annoying ones were fixed.

Actually, I DID play Ultima IX, I just wasn't affected by any of its bugs! I have gotten extremely lucky in terms of bugs over the years. Games that for others were buggy, I had no problem with...until NOW!

Yeah, Ultima IX is by far the buggiest game I've ever tried to play upon release. BD isn't even in the same league.

Will 1.43 wipe out the properties of my magic items again??Im in act 2 really hate to start over if I upgrade to 1.44 from 1.42.BTW where are all the old patches being posted like 1.3 1.4 1.41,1.42,1.43 or is larian just working on the same pacth over and over?I was expecting a couple weeks for a patch release not a couple of days-rather have em take there time & get it right. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />
