Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Saved Game Fails to Load

I saved my game prior to going to fight the Shaman. I died and went to reload and I get the following error:

Bad Version: instead of ExtraAnimV1.0 16-03-2004

When I click OK, BD closes. This fails 100% for me. Unfortunately, I do not have a previous save to go back to. Therefore, if I cannot get this to reload, I am doing playing. This game is too buggy to continue.

Any ideas?

Check the number of files in the saved game folder (in '..\Beyond Divinity\savegames'); my saves at that point have 28 files.

Try deleting the files in the dynamic folders;
'..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act1\Dynamic', '..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act2\Dynamic', etc.
These folders are used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied to those folders when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Beyond Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in those folders, deleting the files should fix the problem.
This may have been done already if you reset the configuration after the game crashed.

If it is not a problem in the save itself, it may be one with the game, in which case a clean un-install and re-install + patch might help (after backing up your lone save).

I tried reinstalling over itself with no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results. Therefore, the problem lies in the saved game itself. It is the only common denominator.

I am looking at what my options are to correct this. Not sure what I will do. If the save is bad, I will not start over from scratch, the game just isn't worth it.
