Yes it will, I bought the game from GamersGate and can tell you the digital patch from this site works perfectly.

Thanks for the reply.

I went ahead and installed the Digital version of the patch. I am now getting the black screen with only the UI.

I will try some of fixes here. World not rendering

I suppose this also means all the games you bought on steam can't be activated any more.

That is not what larian studio states. Steam patching requires a few days waiting, so they can tune the patch to their version of the game.

Follow-up to the black screen problem.

First I have the Gamersgate version of DKS and installed the digital patch 1.4.9.65.

Here is a screen of the game with:

Nvidia 260.99 Drivers
Use Interface In Desktop Resolution Unchecked
Nvidia Scaling unchecked because it won't work since the 200+ drivers.

[Linked Image]

And here is a screen with the same in-game settings but:

Nvidia 175.45 Drivers
Use Interface In Desktop Resolution Unchecked
Nvidia Scaling Checked

[Linked Image]

As you can see the Nvidia Scaling fixed the funky UI.

Here are my screens with Use Interface In Desktop Resolution Checked for both 260.99 and 175.45.

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

You can see that they both have the black screen issue and the resolutions in the options are set to 1680x1050 but the actual resolutions are 1440x900 and 1400x1050!

So there seems to be two problems;

1) D2:DKS does not play well with 200+ drivers scaling.
2) Interface scaling with certain resolutions does not work properly since the new patch.

Here is my dxdiag.

Sorry for the long post in this already long thread! Hope this helps some people though.

Great job Kirii! Hopefully Larian folks will fix this soon. The scaling that makes everything look fat is horrible.

@haters, sure call me a troll. makes no difference to me. this game has had a microstutter since the original came out and its never been fixed. all thats been done is a fps clamp which was removed and talks of a fix in progress (recently too!) so while this stutter may not effect you, good for you! it does for others! and yes, i am passed the recommended specs.

Steam version has finally been patched!!! thankyou The game seems to run quite a bit smoother and even looks better on the same settings. However, I do agree with mikes, there is a microstutter there, sometimes it more noticeable, sometimes not that much, but it's there confused

No I don't hate you.
So it's "just" a microstutter and not heavy stuttering. Yes I noticed once in a while. Nothing really serious in my case, otherwise if I care I wouldn't play PC games, just console. Most of the games that I play (Dragon Age, ARMA, OFF, RoF, Two Towers II, Gothic 4, etc)have nicrostuttering.
I call you troll not because of your complain, but for the second part of the statement, the one about got the money back. If you returned the game because you didn't like it, why came again here and bash about a patch that fixes and add important things to the game. That's a troll behaviour in my book.

Will the 360 version be receiving any new achievements with the patch?

It would be great to have one for beating the game on the new Nightmare difficulty... smile

Once you have submitted a game to MS and it's approved, you cannot just change or add achievements. One title is fixed to 1000 achievement points. If we wanna add more, we'd have to release an add-on.

After patch came out, my game started stuttering very much, especially when walking around in Aleroth.
I have not changed any graphical options. Maybe i should??

After patch, the config.xml file no longer exists. DON'T PANIC! All of the settings are now integrated into the ingame options screen.

I don't panic about config.xml. I panic about the changes - now the game does not obey LockStepMode directive in the config. Works fine on previous version tho.
Srsly, guys, you need some real testers for the game :P

The lock step mode is now exposed in the options screen. The config.xml file no longer works since all its options are now accessible in game.

What does larian mean with overpowered enchantments, empty containers?

WHich enchantments are overpowered? Is every barrel and crate going to an item, or do you mean that you won't find a chest with no items any more?

For enchantment I'm not sure but I guess few were too powerful compared to their level, for example +100 magic damage as level 3 enchantment (this one is not true but just an example).
Also you could find weapons with very high level enchantments early in the game.

For empty containers in some occasion you can mindread people and this gives you access to their container which were empty although they "tell" you that they hide something there.

I know. My statement is still valid. It does not obey the directive in ..\Local\Divinity 2\Profile\graphicoptions.xml
