When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

Don't encourage them! What's that old adage, something about friends should never discuss religion or politics...?

It's a friendly forum, though. Except when those topics come up...

exactly, and while I do consider myself a christian, religion really doesn't need to be discussed here.

Atheism is also nothing but a religion iin my eyes ... It fulfills every point any monotheistic religion has, imho ...

Well that's sure to antagonise a few people, but it's true that there are whose who can be zealous believers in anything. I think that the religious wars between text editors takes the cake. Of course vi is miles better than emacs, which tends to be used by heretics, alcoholics and people who smell, but there you go.

I'm a zealous believer in the idea that I don't know shit (...particularly when it comes to any belief in the existence of or lack of existence of a God.)

I hope I wouldn't be so arrogant as to think I know the answer.

Having said that, certain things push my buttons (like fundamentalism...not necessarily religion per se) and then I go and embarrass myself in public in an entirely inappropriate way!

I challenge your heresy of not knowing with my knowledge of bugger all. I hereby declare a holy war on behalf of the Buggerallites!

My reputation precedes me it seems. Who are you though? I've amassed great fame over the web and have made many enemies and friends (more enemies) and have lost count of all the reasons for some of these things.

Just joking. I remember exactly what this was about but I don't think GabeN comes here and neither did I until today. Though he started the debate and rightfully deserved the rebuking even though a game forum is not the place to discuss religion or politics(*spit*). Hench the three months late post but I felt obliged to show my presence here since this topic had my name on it lol.
