Canonically, what happens to the Paladin after the big bad throws him into the rift at the end of the boss fight? Does the Paladin ever return home? Does the Paladin end up on Nemesis fighting the Black Ring?

What is the ultimate fate of the Paladin?

The paladin ends up back in Rivellon, where the final rift was aimed (the DK being allowed to leave Nemisis because a follower of the Divine wish it). The rift temple in the after-game battlefields is in Rivellon, and was how Damian was originally banished (described in the BD novella).

Has Larian ever said what happened to the Paladin in the 50 years between Beyond Divinity and Ego Draconis? (I'm guessing "No.")

It would be nice to know, because I'm doing a "Let's Play" of Beyond Divinity, and I know someone will ask what happens to the Paladin, and it would be nice to be able to give an answer more detailed than "I have no idea."
