Our users are encouraged to use our released products for the creation of playthroughs, instructional videos, and similar content. Feel free to publish videos featuring our content on your own website or through services like YouTube and Vimeo.

However, we ask you not to take assets (e.g. voices, music, item, or art) and distribute these out of the context of Larian Studios' games.

While you're free to monetise your videos using programs such as the YouTube partner program, charging viewers to access your vidoes or selling or licensing your videos for any kind of payment is prohibited.

Larian Studios is not responsible for contacting YouTube on your behalf in order to grant permission for use of our content. If you encounter any trouble in this area, a link to this page should suffice as proof of fair use.

This policy applies only to Larian Studios' content; if you create a video using a montage of content from various sources (e.g. gameplay footage from games produced by other studios, music from unaffiliated artists), this page is insufficient to provide permission for the use of each of those pieces of content.

Larian Studios reserves the right to change or cancel this permission at any time in its sole discretion.

Are we allowed to extract and publish the full world/mini maps so that others can use them for guides or interactive atlases?

Paragraph two said it's okay as long the context is Larian Studios' games. If you write a guide for the game, of course you can use artwork from the game to illustrate your points. That's my interpretation. smile

Exactly.

Examples for false use would be to use their arts for your own game or your own fantasy website that has nothing to do with this game at all.

If you however run a fan website dedicated to this game, then you should be fine to extract all valuable textures like maps, paintings, item icons and hidden concept arts that may lay around and publish them on your website. You should however have a section that clears the situation, some disclamer which ideally links to this website.
That at least is my non-professional opinion on the current official statement.

Also almost all new smaller studios know how valuable a good fanbase and especially fan made projects are. By that i mean wikis, interactive tools like a atlas you described or game mods that integrate into the current world.
So hindering you from contributing to their games success sure is far from their intention.

I hope that helps.

That's an example of a healthy attitude towards the matter of intelectual property.
