So I might have failed in the search feature but I could not find a topic that assisted players with crafting recipes. I found a few recipes here and there mentioned but no thread really dedicated to it so I thought I would start one.
I will post the recipes I have discovered so far through trial and error since playing in the beta when I first heard about the game I will try to break them up into sections for easier readability, feel free to add any recipes I may have missed or may have changed since going live as I have not re-tested all of these to confirm if all still valid.

You can make the mobile kitchen by adding a cookpot to a campfire, despite the name they are not mobile however and you cant take them with you, least not anyway I have found.
Added the recipe to the food section, also updated the cookpot helmet which I also seemed to have missed from the armor section!

Recipes that require the Anvil, Oven etc should be listed as such, easiest place to do the cooking in early game is in the cook / quartermasters area since you have oven inside and the Legionnaires have some mobile kitchens just outside, also a water barrel just outside the door as well
The recipes that require these tools is just a matter of dragging the item from inventory to the required tool (Anvil, Oven, Furnace etc)
Holy cow. That list even has the crafting skill needed.
Does anyone know how to collect honey? I clicked on some beehives, but it just opened an item storage window with nothing in it. I thought I'd get some honeycomb from it or something.
I've found that you can transport a mobile kitchen if you put a cooking pot on the ground then drag it on the campfire. The item will be added to your inventory. I fail to understand how to get it back once placed on the ground though.

Grab an empty Jar (They look like honey pots) and move it onto one of the beehives

If that is true, and I'm assuming it is, they why does the beehive open up like a storage container when you click it? Are you supposed to store items in the beehive? That's just really confusing, but thanks for the info.
I would like to know why, when I use a cup of water or something similar, that I don't get the cup back. Cups, bowls, jars are becoming are real valuable commodity in this game.
Nope, didn't change anything. Yet, I still find it useful. Wanna update it?
I figured. The chart made no reference to Blacksmithing, which part of crafting was split off to in order to make the repair skill (now "blacksmithing") more appealing.
I'm waiting on my CE with the crafting recipe card deck to arrive , although I suspect it won't include the level requirements. I know the crafting level requirements shifted around multilple times during the alpha/beta, so much that I gave up on tracking them.
Sword of Planets (1h all elemental resist + fire dmg + 20% chance of burning) = Bottle of Swirling Mud + Fiery Heart
WARNING: Its level dependent, meaning the sword will be created based on the character who forged it. E.g. Character level 15 will create a sword with level 15 stats
Sword of Planets (1h all elemental resist + fire dmg) = Bottle of Swirling Mud + Fiery Heart
Ooh, special weapon recipe? There are those in the game as well? Nice. I was wondering what to do with that Swirling Mud ingridient. Is Fiery Heart a random drop or fixed one?
You can buy Fiery Heart from the Enchantress in Cyseal (Market place). She sells them occasionally. The Sword can be buffed with Tormented Soul, Grinding stone, etc. Its marked as a *common item for now.
Yeah I want to add things such as skill level requirement to the list for crafting, all weapons / armor seem to scale as you level so its hard to post stats and required stats of equipment upon creation based on this unless someone knows the formula they use to decide the required stats?
You know if one can enchant his armor / weapon ? Because crafting a plain armor isn't good enough once you loot magical items.
This is not true. Weapon / Armor can be enchanted with applying elemental essences, Tenebrium Bar, Rubies, Grinding Stone or Tormented Soul, etc (more to discover). While magical and legendary weapons will cap at level 20, crafting weapons and armors can go beyond level 20, since they are based on your character level + Blacksmithing / Crafting skills.
Metal armor | Leather armor + Metal scraps Scale armor | Leather armor + Scale scraps Metalic Boots | Scrap of Metal + Anvil
aren't working for me. And nothing I make with the magic needle and thread is actually magical. (magical seems to be working today, hooray)
No fun!
The scale scraps aren't working for me either with anything, also the plate scraps, I think these ones may be a little buggy.
Thanks, In my current game i've had no luck getting any Metal scaps / Scale scraps to try alternate recipes so im just trying to get these to see if I can find if recipe has changed or just removed (Maybe I just noted it down wrong)

Big heads up on that file. I created the file from a .txt file in the game directories during Alpha when we could see them. Several things ~have~ changed significantly since then (also stats) especially in the blacksmithing vs crafting categories. Also naming of items has changed. So, consider the file a good start, but it is definitely not up to date with the changes made during the various beta builds. I didn't want to the update until things had settled down a bit. (Like Blacksmithing, Repairing, Crafting, and making scrolls once required a certain level of magic as well) And now the information I used to create the original one has been cleverly hidden in some other files. I might be able to find it in the toolkit, not sure yet. They have some great 3rd party extraction programs for modders for Skyrim, but that doesn't mean it will work with the Divinity Engine (have to take a look!)
So, xrogaan, since you are volunteering to do all the updates for the file, I'll stop fiddling around with what I have now. Which is good for me since I just started a new job this week and have a little less time on my hands
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but you can create a true mobile kitchen, I.e. In your inventory not on the ground by using the pot on a campfire that is not in town, such as the seaside thug camp fire

I found the new item combo file in the game's Main.pak. Well, I assume it the one used. I'm in the process of converting it to a readable / better formatted version.
Nice work on all the new recipes all! little slow on the update this time work keeps getting in the way of gaming!
Have added all new recipes mentioned

Awesome, If you want once your done converting it I can add a link to it the top of the first post so we can keep everything together.
So, I've condensed the current version of ItemCombos down to its essentials. It needs to be cleaned up and formatted for wiki / forum viewing but here it is.
Some observations: - No recipe for creating Metal Scraps - No recipe for creating Cloth Scraps - It is possible to get Milk & Wool via Pet Pal which is not listed here. Milk = Bucket + Milk Cow. Wool = Sheep + Shears. The dialog options to harvest Milk & Wool do not appear unless you have the item in inventory. - There are some bugs for Sharp Claws & Big Chicken Feet. See the notes in the file. - Any modder making food will need to remember to create a normal version & a poisoned version for zombie players. - You can make more backpacks! - We can recycle weapons, but not armor. Sword & Axe recycling is lossless as long as you didn't boost it with an item, i.e., something other than an anvil or whetstone wheel. - Crafting drops off after Level 3 (unless doing scrolls) and doesn't get good until Level 5. - Level 5 versions of weapons & armor have nice bonuses.

No problem. One thing to keep in mind is that I didn't make names perfect, e.g., sometimes I say Poison Potion and sometimes I say Minor Poison Potion. Also, I just updated Essence - Shadow to Essence - Void & Blackrock to Tenebrium.
So, I know this was already answered to a degree, but where do I get the Fiery Heart OTHER than the Enchantress in Cyceal? Because I'm on what we'd call Act 2 I guess? And I don't think her items change anymore.

The Fiery Heart isn't a unique item?
Fiery Heart is also sold in the tavern of Silverglen: small table in the center-ish, with 3 people seated. Most right one sometimes has it, left one has crafting items too. Middle guy sells only potions
Sinew's drop from creatues like wolves, i dont know if any animal drops it, but wolves usually, you can try and check the butcher on the cysael market, sometimes he has animal ingredients
More recipies (from the kickstarter backer edition):
Potion(resist all) | fire resistance potion + earth resistance potion Scale armour | metal scraps + mail armour Antler helmet | leather cap + magic antler Crossbow Stock and Limb | Wooden branch + steel bar Functional crossbow | Crossbow Stock and Limb + bowstring
It's also worth to mention that you can add multiple essences to armours or sarongs. Crafting on level 5 is really, really powerful because you can stack resistances multiple times.
Also the resistances per craft depend on the basic quality of the armour/sarong. Normal/not magical armour only gets 5% resistance when combined with an essence but a rare armour gets 15% and rare robes even 20% per essence. I'm not sure, but I think it's limited at 35% (per resistance category) for rare/magical armour and 40% for rare/magical robes.
Similar is true for weapons. You can for example combine a weapon with a Tenebrium bar and you can combine it with a tormented soul. That way you can craft really powerful weapons...
So think about investing some point in crafting. It's really valuable once you've reached level 5. The downsize is that most really cool stuff isn't available before level 5 so you need to invest a lot of points in the skill..
I hope you guys don't mind me asking a few noob questions, the crafting in DOS is kinda confusing to me.
1. Are metal 1H/2H Axe & Sword the only items in game that can be disenchanted/broken down? Every other loot is meant to be NPC'ed for gold?
2. Also, for Boost/Enchancing of crafted Armor and Weapons, the stats that you get are random? I tried crafting multiple 1H and 2H swords, they all come out with different stats like for example some had +8% Crit Chance only while others had +1 Str only and there were those that had no accompanying stats but have way higher Base Dmg. Those with stats had very low Base Dmg but can be sharpened at whetstone to boost dmg by a little(still lose out to the no stats crafts though) but those with no stats cannot be boosted. I've yet to get a crafted wep that has multiple stats like Crit + Str.
3. Pls correct me if im wrong here but only chest armor pieces can be boosted right?(using anvil or mobile cooking). Glove, belt, boots, helm can only be upgraded in item quality i.e. from white to blue or + resist.
4. To make the armor magical i.e blue, green, yellow quality or to add resist i will need to use armor/leather/cloth scraps and essence etc?
The difference between the different types of upgrading confuses me greatly lol. Appreciate your help!!!

Yeah, they are random but get better by increasing your crafting skill IIRC.

Thanks for doing this. Here are more arrowheads to add:
Arrowhead (Explosive) | Minor Fire Resistance Potion + Arrowhead
Edit: Tried this in-game but can't get it to work. Anyone else? It's in the beta recipe sheet, might have changed (I have 3 crafting right now, but didn't see a crafting message fly up) Arrowhead (Poison Cloud) | Poison Arrowhead + Poison Arrowhead
I will also add that only minor resistance potions produce arrowheads, stronger ones don't combine, so you may want to update the other two recipes featuring resistance potions.
Voodoo Dolls have a progression: Wooden Figurine | Cloth Scraps + Thread Magic Voodoo Doll | Voodoo Doll + Pixie Dust. The magic doll does a decent amount of piercing damage as a single-use item and costs 0 action points. It's created stronger the more crafting you have.
Another thing I made: Antler Helmet | Magic Antler + Leather Helmet I *think* it gave me +1 leadership and otherwise didn't change the helmet but I didn't save the results. Sorry.
Finally, I confused by this recipe: Amulet (Skull) +1 Int | thread + Magic Tusk
Is this Amulet (Tusk) or Amulet (Skull)? And, has anybody found a use for intestines, yet? It says "ingredient" on it...
Incidentally, while figuring this out I also found:
Debuff Strength Potion | Poison Potion + Tooth Debuff Perception Potion | Poison Potion + Eye Debuff All Potion | Debuff Strength Potion + Debuff Constitution Potion* * I think any two different debuff potions will work, I only had a debuff strength and debuff con potion to try.
Thanks so much for all the info all of you! Just a heads up on the first post the skull amulet (+1 int) says a magic tusk plus thread. Do you mean to say magic skull plus thread? Haven't come across a tusk yet. Also, where are metal scraps from?
It provides an HP buff and looks ridiculous. Note if you use this recipe on a magical leather helmet it will wipe off whatever properties are on it and replace it with this.

Haha, bucket, cooking pot, pumpkin and crab claw helmet should grant a pretty funny group picture... :P
I have 5 recipes that are not listed (at least as far as I can see). They are:
Large Steel Bar = Large Iron Bar + Furnace Steel Bar = Hand Axe + Furnace Leather Scraps = Animal Hide + Knife/Dagger Rat Tail Ring = Magic Rat's Tail + Jeveller's Kit: Ring - (Poison Resistance: +X%) Tusk Amulet = Magic Tusk + Thread - (Loremaster: +1)
I have also noted that the HP increase and Poison Resistance increase is depending on the PC level and/or crafting level. For instance when I crated the Rat Tail Amulet, the Rat Tail Ring, and the Tusk Ring, I got Poison Resistance: +10% (all 3 increase poison resistance). When I created the Starfish Amulet I got HP +23 last level and HP +26 this level.
Maybe the stat increase (for instance Intelligence +1) can be more than +1 if the PC Level and/or crafting level is high enough.
I have a general question about crafting weapons and armors with blacksmithing/crafting skill. So far i pretty good with improving my stuff thx to this post, but HOW ( and please if you have a answer, do it precisly :P ) can i create GREEN and/or BLUE or even yellow/orange Armor and Weapons?
My Blacksmithskill is 4 right now, i read is some posts that you need 5 for the good ones.
So can someone explain to me HOW EXACTLY the blacksmithskill works into the creation?
right now with my 4 skill i can only create the same 1h sword, same stats, white, 100% the same.
Does this change when i get 5? does it get even higher with 6 or 7? can i make green blues then? Because right now there is zero need to craft my stuff because i all wear orange stuff weapons who might not have the biggest dmg but encahnts like ( +2 constitution, +1 onehand, +60hp) that beats no whitch superior dmg weapon.
So can i get green weapons with blacksmithing who hast + onehandskill + streanght and stuff? or is tormented soul the only way to get at least some stats on weapons?
edit: well i saved before i respecced, and tryd every single skillpoint from blacksmithing. You can only craft white swords which increase ONLY their dmg by increasing your blacksmith skill, lv 5 is the last sword ( superior sword) which can at least come in 2 variations 110- 190~~ dmg 1,5critdmg, 0 crit. Or 80-160 dmg 1,5critdmg, o crit, +1 max ap. No green or blues, dont now if its even possible to upgrade them. Very disapointing.
the 110-190 dmg version isnt even boostable, right you cant upgrade it via wetstone, so you only can give it 1str1dex from tormented soul and 1 elementaltype.
Thats clearly not better than the orange weapons with multiple enchatns. im lv 16 btw, maybe they increase in their quality but i doubt it.
so creating you own armor and weapons is totally useless in this game? you can boost your found orange items with craftingmats also, why creating you own weaker white ones? or did i miss something.....
You can add effects on your armors/weapons with the different ingredients you found. Like the essences will add resistance bonus on you armors. Thus, you can upgrade your items.
At level 5 (crafting/blacksmith), you'll be able to create "magical" items out right. For example, the leather armor you can create will have more properties, and will still allow upgrades.
Blacksmith skill is linked to metal working and the crafting to everything else.
Are there requirements of any sort to improve gear other than the Crafting/BS level? My Rogue was able to boost my tanks chest, but not the shield. When I put it in I get the same dialogue box and it says it'll make it Boosted, but the item doesn't change. Am I missing something?

maybe, but no weapons, you cant create magic or rare weapons. Even with level 6 blacksmith you can only make the same white ones, and you cant upgrade them enough, so its useless to make weapons. Better hope for good drops and upgrade the, pretty dissapointing mechanic if you ask me, you can make blue armor why no blue weapons. so what im doing with all my iron bars? making white swords and sell`? i will have an eye on this

I can confirm that the Quartermaster upstairs in the cooks house can have sinew (found it via savescum)
Though it would be nice if everyone started listing the level of crafting needed for the recipes.
I can't do a lot of useful recipes with 4-5 crafting/BS. Totally NOT going to invest more ranks into it unless it's super worthwhile, since I have no idea how much of a boost the "improvements" give.

Well, in the later game it IS super worthwile, for weapen/armour enchantments with essences, Tormented Souls and Tenebrium alone.
As I said before, my melee char for example has 100% resistance against all elements. He is actually healed by fire, water, air and earth. Also I have a +4 strength weapon with a huge damage (normal+elemental+Tenebrium)just because of crafting and the list goes on and on...
I have tried to update the new recipes discovered by people however I seem to have lost the ability to further edit my initial posts.
I have contacted The staff at Larian to see if I can regain this ability however for now people will need to review the final few pages of the thread for any updated recipes people find.
Some really cool recipes people have found

Actually its based on your level and crafting skill, I believe you start getting +2 to stats post level 10 however I cannot confirm this just yet. I wanted to modify it to say just + STR and + DEX however it looks like you can only modify your posts for so long before you lose access to it, Due to this I'll be unable to modify the initial posts further but we can still collect recipes and update the spreadsheet provided by PatrickSJ and Alynora

So did anyone figure purpose of Joshua's spice? I saw some food like dwarwen stew maybe it used to create it or another "rare" food. But i hardly can imagine one time consumable with ingridient that cost 800.

With 5 blacksmithing and crafting at level 14, only gave 1 to both.
Hm ok, it definitly has nothing to do with blacksmith, only with crafting. I was either 15 or above when i used my first soul, gave me +2. Guess we found out now. I was also crafting 5.
BTW. You can also create a new Thread. Just start with your acutal post and ask the mods to delete the old one. But dont forget to gather the remaining infos :>

I read this can be used with gear (weapons / armor) for a big boost, not sure what it does as I have not found it.
I think from level 16/17 onwards you get 2+ STR and 2+ DEX on weapon stats from Tormented Souls. I'm at level 17 now and it gives me that much. IIRC I've crafted my last weapons before this on level 15 and then I only got +1/+1.

I've tried to combine spice with weapons and armors, not possible for me... probably missing something.
I have now updated all recipes into a new thread which I can again modify, I have added all new recipes mentions (I think) and added several more I have found, also corrected several spelling errors and changes some formatting.
I will not be updating this thread anymore, You can view the new thread Here
I have several questions. Joshua's spice - any idea what for?
Combine it with a weapon.

I'm using ItemCombos.txt and ItemComboPreviews.lsx as raw references and there isn't anything for intestines in there at all. Unless the code is something totally different; I tried looking for 'guts' and 'stomach' and such, but no dice.

ItemComboPreviews.lsx shows 10 possible combinations with Joshua Spice, for the 10 weapon categories. You may need to drag the Josh onto the weapon (not the other way around), some of these recipes seem to be reversible while others are not - the syntax in the script doesn't make it clear.
Here's an example of one of the recipes in raw format:
Sorry if this was listed in the preceding pages. I scanned through quickly to find an answer but to no avail so I am forced to ask: I'm in Hiberheim and my chars are clearly freezing. On the Steam forum someone mentioned crafting snow boots but did not give a recipe. Is there one? Are their recipes for other gear that will keep out the cold too?
Again sorry if this has been asked or listed before. I did go through the pages before asking but I may have missed the answer.

You will probably be better off viewing and checking in the new thread, its far more up to date than this one now.
To prevent the freezing you would be best buffing your gear with cold reset and using spells such as immunity to freezing, check out the >>>>> Enchanting Equipment <<<<< section of refer thread for various recipes for this.
Also a neat recipe which will help your chars from falling over on ice [CR X] + Immunity to Falling/Slippery | Any Footwear + Nine Inch Nails

Is there any point in leveling crafting or blacksmithing past 5 (with items)? It looks like everything is tied to your character's level and not the ability.
Someone make an android app, sell it for 1.99, get rich
*Laughs* SOmeone should make an app, though I doubt they'd get away with selling it unless they didn't use any in-game assets.
Am I the only one that found the spreadsheet klunky and started revising it on my own end? I spent probably 4 or 5 hours reworking the various names so they could be sorted as potions, etc, then I started tracking what effects the jewelry has when crafted. I also uncovered an oddity about the Rabbit's Foot stuff that I found strange and documented that on my end.
Do we have a protocol for updating that somewhere or what?
I couldn't use the spreadsheet at all, the text was miniscule and I could not get it imported into excel (I hate the new version, probably PEBKAC error). I just keep the first page on this post open and search with control-f to see if I want to keep an ingredient or junk it.
I wish the crafted items didn't all have such high requirements, seems like you cant really do crap till 3 or 4 CL which is a ways into the game.
Any of the rest of you have one guy doing crafting and a different one on blacksmithing? My Jahan is a mage generalist and I couldn't afford to raise both on him
I'm using the Excel sheet I found floating around somewhere, not the Google Docs one. Even that needed some cleanup, though.
I use one of my mains as a crafter, both BS and Crafting. I've put 2 points each into BS and Crafting I rolled them with Scientist, not realizing Jahan also has that. I found that only a single point into both allowed me to do well enough for quite some time, mostly repairing and making potions or quills to increase income. I begrudged the skill points a bit, but found them necessary. That's a Rogue, so it was easier than on Jahan, I suppose.
Oh, something I forgot and decided warranted a new post instead of an edit. WHen I was making all the jewelry to document the effects, for my own notes, I found something odd with the Rabbit's Paw stuff. There are Lucky Rabbit's Paws and regular ones. If you make an amulet with the Lucky version, you aren't able to end up making the Lucky Rabbit Paw Belt. If you make an amulet, however, with a regular Rabbit's Paw, then use a bowstring on that, you get a Lucky Rabbit Paw Amulet on which dropping a rope will craft the Lucky Rabbit Paw Belt.
Kind of an odd behavior that I kept forgetting to see if others had noticed.
The list of crafting recipes is getting extremely dense. Could anyone provide their opinion on the Top 5 most useful crafting recipes?
For example: CR5 - Boots + Nine Inch Nails = No Slipping on Ice. This one is insanely useful for the entire game.
Besides the always avaible show + Nine Inch Nails here my other top 5 crafing things, all are boosts, so I guess you see a pattern here and they stack with each other. ;-)
1. Tormented Soul + Weapon (Str + Dex Bonus, with level 16 weapons you get +2 each) 2. Void Essence + Apparel (+1 Sneaking, so no point it getting much 1 points in it) 3. Wetstone Wheels + Metal Weapon (simple but effective) 4.Tenebrium Bar + Weapon (Tenebrium Weapon, comes with its own disadvantages because Tenebrium Weapons use the Tenebrium Skill instead of your normal weapon skill. Sometimes it might be more useful to use some essence to boost the weapon with some other elemental damage, you can not boost multiple magical damage sources at the same time, and btw this does not work with weapons which are already on default tenebrium, they can not be enhanced with elemental damage) 5. Ruby + Armor ( Resist all )
How do you make a mobile kitchen. I thought I read about someone making one of those using a cooking pot or something.
You can make a mobile kitchen (that is, mobile) combinig a cooking pot with a campfire. But the cooking pot must be on the ground, not in your inventory. Don't ask me why. Just works.

oddly, once I got out of cyseal proper, even the beach area to the north, dragging a cooking pot from my inventory onto a fire creates a kitchen... in my inventory. it's fully useable, but cannot be dropped. It can be destroyed however.
Sinew's drop from creatues like wolves, i dont know if any animal drops it, but wolves usually, you can try and check the butcher on the cysael market, sometimes he has animal ingredients
Yesterday I got 2 sinew off of wild boars north of Cyseal. I've seen a very few from wolves in the past, but apparently they also drop from the hostile pigs.
It made me wonder if the drop rate had been tweaked slightly. I'd gone several levels prior to this without a single sinew sighting, then suddenly 2 in one fight (from 2 pigs).

I can confirm this is how I created a mobile kitchen in my inventory. I used the fire by Dietmer. (Sp?)
Anyone else noted the stats of crafted items seem to scale with character level and/or crafting/blacksmithing levels? Found this thread and started using some of the recipes to clean up my inventory. When I tried the one for the starfish amulet it came out with +79 hp and +20% water resistance. Character I used was Jahan, lvl. 17 with 5 in crafting.
Please note that this thread is old, very old. It has not been updated in a long while. Angry Dave did a tremendous job putting this list together. He also created newer and more updated lists than this one. At some point he decided to quit and I took over. You can find the most updated list on top of this sub section. It has been sticky'ed to make it even easier to access. You really should use that list since most of your observations have already been addressed in it.

A lot of items you create will scale with your hero level, while boosts will scale with the item level.
Is there NO WAY to upgrade your (leather) boots in this game?!
I'm going crazy searching for it.
One would logically *think* that, since metal armor can be upgraded by metal scraps, leather boots would also be upgradable by leather scraps. I mean, that would make sense, no?
I've tried everything. Not even essence nor a ruby makes a difference. Metal, clothing, leather, gems, hammers, tormented souls, ruby, pearl, essences, elemental stuff, nothing...nothing works! NOTHING!! It just doesn't budge one iota! Nothing changes in any of the things the boots have or can do. I've must of dragged it over more than 100+ other items and ingredients... IT. JUST. DOESN'T. GIVE. ANYTHING.
I'm going nuts with this crafting/smithing system.
You can put nails on the soles to make them non-slip, but other than that and recolouring them, I think that's all. Other than that, it's just down to making a new pair of boots using better crafting skills I think.

Yes, found that out a while ago. And, while useful - certainly in cold, icy places - it doesn't augment your stats on your boots.
So... there really ain't a way to upgrade, thus? It's weird. With all this over-elaborate crafting system where the weirdest stuff gets made or upgraded, simply upgrading your boots, like you do with other parts of your armor, is omitted?
Seems like the priorities are a bit off. ;-)
Thanks for the info, in any case. Would you happen to know if it's the same for bracers too (aka, no upgrades)?
I know one can make/create stuff that is sometimes better then stuff one found, but sometimes, there is also pretty good items to be found (way better than what one can make at that level), so I thought upgrading them like I did with other pieces of armor would be the best way to go.
Anyway, I've said that before: while the concept of having multiple objects that can be used in different ways to make or upgrade different other things is nice, the implementation of it in this game is convoluted and illogical. They really should try to streamline and make it more logical and intuitive for the next game.
For the rest I have little complaints, it's a fairly good game, in its genre (old school type of RPG).
Thought I did mess up the 'proper' way of doing things (like visiting areas), I guess, since I had a lot of trouble fighting spiders of lvl14 while I was lvl 7, while now I discovered some area's where the enemies are lvl6-7, while I'm lvl 14. Going from super-hard, to all-too-easy. But that's my own fault, I guess; I hardly follow the usual paths and am more inclined to free roaming. ,-) Which also explains why the story was progressing in an erratic way, I guess. I had already killed some people who were later referred to (by Evelyn, for instance), and I had already discovered the white witch before they asked me to search for her, etc. That also explains, probably, why I can't seem to finish the quest with the staff for the mayor; I've got it, but he just doesn't seem to care anymore (aka, no talk-options about it to end that quest).
But, well, can't hold that against the game, I just took the difficult road, there. ;-)
My only major complaint is the crafting system. There is so little consistency in it...
