I've been searching all over the place and I can't find a source for basic info such as moving the camera the way they do in video's... which is frustrating trying to work on anything. Hot keys in different menu's? Alt Shift Ctrl will do what where etc?

Make sure you are using the editor camera. It's the little 3d glasses Icon on the top menu bar. IIRC the shortcut is cntl + shift + b.

Navigation, move around using middle mouse + arrow keys. In editor view anyway.

Game camera is useful for checking stuff but difficult to work in.

Turns out I had mapped my middle button to a different function so when I was experimenting I could never get it to work doh.

One thing to keep in mind while working through the editor is some "settings" you change aren't persistent. It's really annoying. Nice to hear key mapping does persist though.

Shift makes camera move fast, alt makes it move slow. Very useful, and took me a little while to find out.
