I don't recall the game going in to too much detail on the dealings between Asmodheus and Damian, but IIRC it was Asmodheus that proposed the plan in the first place, so there was no reason to twist anything for his own amusement. In other dealings, Asmodheus is probably smart enough not to mess with Damian too much, and Damian is probably smart enough not to count on Asmodheus to stick to agreements without any creative interpretation of some of the details.
