Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Suggestions and Feedback Bard class?

Hey guys. I'm new here, just recently got into the first game D:OS Enhanced Edition and it's a blast so now I'm really looking forward to Divinity Original Sin 2!

One thing that I'm disappointed about is the lack of a bard class. I feel like it's such a classic RPG class (that I haven't seen in any games since EverQuest) and feel like it would have been right at home in D:OS..

Anyone else feel the same? Do you think it will ever be in the game?

the problem with the 'bard' mod is it also redoes a lot of balance in the base game, which not everyone wants. Or at least that's how I've gathered it working ; I personally have no interest in it, with how much is already in the game.

Yea.. the mod looks interesting.. but not everyone wants to mod the game, especially if it mods other features of the game.

It's something else entirely for the devs to design a bard into the game, with their own abilities, weapons, spell effects, NPC interactions and everything.

The re balancing is also why I can't get into the mod. I really like how DOS2 is balanced for the most part.

You can remove most of the other balancing changes by deleting certain files (instructions in the mod readme). But I'll definitely be releasing a bard class only mod with the official release, or ideally a mod installer that lets you pick and choose pretty much exactly what you want.
