Hello Maestro Domus,
you have my sympathies, but to asking for a refund after you had WEEKS [sic] of presumable fun seems a little exaggerated (and IMHO unfair to the devs who spend YEARS to make this game), especially since you could revert to an older save or start a new game, maybe with a very different character build to spice up the rerun?
Although money is a little sparse at the beginning, after awhile you really shouldn't have any money problems later in the game. Just search the web for "divinity original sin making money" and you'll find many sites with tips for making money in DOS:EE. Some examples: Take any sidequests you can get, identify everything before selling it, and if your conscience allows it, steal and pickpocket the hell out of your surroundings to get rich VERY fast.
On the matter of stealing: If you you're strong on the roleplaying side – my friend and I played it this way: I had a very moral Inquisitor while she played a Scoundrel with a more … "practical" attitude. Our meta-game rule was that her Scoundrel could break the law as long as my Inquistor didn't get to know about it. This also created some very nice inter-character conversations when morality was an issue, and I (in the role of my Inquisitor) complained more than once about why the order of the Source Hunters would pair me with such a shady companion. A test of my own steadfastness? Me as a mentor for this lost child?
But I digress. To conclude, since you like the game already, I strongly recommend that you don't let yourself be stopped playing it by this unfortunate issue. It may prevent you to play exactly the way you want (or erroneously think you have to for the money), but one of DOS' strong points is that you can play it in many different manners. In my very subjective opinion, it is one of the best games in its genre and worth playing it despite a single show-stopper.
Best regards
Raban
