May I use content visible in the game for a fan-made online build planner?

I started working on it in my free time. I plan to fire it up as a Netlify free-plan webapp.

I would hazard a guess that as long as it's not profit-making it should count as fair use, but in my case it really is just a guess. I'll pass it to someone more qualified to comment and hopefully a more official answer will be forthcoming soon.

Hi again! Just checking in.

The planner is live in a rudimentary barely-beta stage having most of the under-the-hood calculations in place.

The UI didn't receive much love for far. I just started putting it in place. Saving a build is simple: the URL's got you covered, just bookmark it when you are done.

Here is the build of my last playthrough.

Cheers!

Doesn't appear you can select race! Testing on Chrome.

Also, Lone Wolf doesn't appear to apply its significant changes.

[Edit]: I threw in a quick and dirty fix for the race selection. By hovering on the race (right side) you can select another race. by doing so it'll switch any origin character to a custom race.

Aye, the UI has some design issues right now: it's not very user friendly, unless you happen to be the one programming it. By hovering on the origin you can change it. That includes selecting custom races if you don't want to work with the 6 origin characters.

The lone wolf seems to be working for me:
- Having two characters: Sebille has now 22 finesse
- Adding a third disables the bonus: Sebille has now 16 finesse

If you want to build a party of 2+ there will be an option to activate / deactivate characters without deleting them. For now you can't edit it from the GUI, but if you look up in the URL you'll notice a capital "T" here and there. It represents active being "T"rue, by setting it to "F" and simply reloading the page you hacked the planner. See: Now Sebille has 22 finesse again.

Thanks, I guess I misunderstood how the bonuses apply on the backend for LW. "All Skilled Up" seems to be working too.

Aye, that gave me quite the headache to implement properly...

I think all talents work now that have a visible impact on the stats you can see.
If (de)activating a character is needed, I soon follow up with some sort of a toggleable campfire icon on them so you can see how your stats look like when they are not in the party. I just wanted to wait with that until I can add some avatar images.

Also you get 3 attribute points when creating a character, right now it gives 2 per each level.

Embarassing. One would think a planner could count to 3. Fixed, enjoy your ability point! I'll put mine in intelligence.

Sure thing! wink Aye, just added the Master Training talents, which are exclusive each to a single character. See them in a build here.

Or just play with a blank planner at https://divinity-2-planner.netlify.com

Cheers!

The latest version now supports dismissing / reinviting party members by clicking on their portraits. This way you can prepare a full team of 4 while still seeing Lone Wolf bonuses. For example like so.

Hi again! The planner is out of beta!

* It now comes with a Skillbook.
* You can select unavailable skills as well.
* It keeps track of skills you currently don't have enough slots for.
* Skills are auto sorted.
* Far Out Man and Torturer talents are reflected in the descriptions.
* Lone Wolf builds can still include 4 members
* Clicking on a portrait puts the companion to sleep, removing any bonuses or penalties they inflict on the party.

If your device or browser supports it:

* Works offline.
* You can install it as an app.
* Has a share button in the menu.
