Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Bugs & Technical Problems PS4 - autosave issue

Autosave is on and it set to the max amount of 5. But when my game crashes or something happens that I need to go back for I've only got 3 autosaves, from the first 15min of playing that was hours ago. I know, save often is a golden rule in RPGs but I was atleast expecting to be able to count on autosave doing what it was set up to do. Is this a bug or is this the 'feature' and I've got to just make do?

Auto saves are triggered at specific spots, the first time a character enters the target region. There should be an auto save approaching the gates of Fort Joy, and there are several in different directions after that, but depending on where you go and how long you spend talking and trading, etc, it is possible to have long gaps between auto saves. You can quicksave, or make manual saves.
