Asking a companion to be a Shadowblade when you first recruit them will recruit them with 1 point in Polymorph but no bonus stat point. (A level 2 character will only have 5 attribute points allocable, should be 3 from level 1 + 2 from level 2 + 1 from polymorph) If you later respec them out of Polymorph they will actually still have an attribute decreased automatically which makes them permanently weaker than a normal character.
Tested with recruiting Sebille at level 2. Also occurs with Metamorph. On GOG v3.0.180.158.
