Senior Community Manager

We are looking for a passionate gamer to take on the role of Senior Community Manage to act as the voice of the team of Larian Studios, while also advocating internally for the evolving needs of our community. In addition, the role inherits grow our thriving community as well as manage support for our catalog.

As a Senior Community Manager for an independent video game developer, you will be working in the publishing department (Dublin), interfacing with the PR and marketing leads, and remotely with the design leads located in Ghent, Belgium.

You are responsible for managing our Steam community hubs and official forums, as well as for growth strategy over all of our social media channels. You will act as liaison and communication arm between the community and the company, as well as taking an active role in broader general publishing topics at the discretion of the publishing and broader teams. You are expected to report to the Head of PR & Social Media with your strategies for expanding organic growth.

The ideal candidate is an ardent gamer, with an understanding and interest in video game publishing, PR, and game creation, as well as first-hand experience on Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, and Discord. Experience in additional channels is a plus

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand healthy communities for the entire Larian catalog, past and present.

  • Be active with our players on various platforms, help foster a sense of mutual respect and open communication between the community and Larian Studios

  • Understand player behavior across all levels of engagement (e.g., casual to hardcore)

  • Maintain a continuous, authentic voice

  • Have a strong affinity with social media channels like Facebook and Twitter as well as solid knowledge on industry’s best practices in engaging with the target audiences

  • Assist in the growth of brand media channels (Twitter, Facebook, forums, etc,.)

  • Synchronize with the broader teams to create compelling online content.

  • Filter community feedback to different Larian teams, e.g. marketing or development.

  • Brainstorm with the wider publishing team and cultivate ideas in the short and long terms.

  • Interface with external and/or internal staff managing support tickets and issues.

 

Skills and requirements

  • 3+ years of Community Management experience within the gaming industry

  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency in creative English speaking and writing

  • Organized and able to work with multiple stakeholders

  • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to react quickly to changing situations and last-minute requests

  • Intimate knowledge about, and experience with, each of the major social media channels and the ability to identify and use trends

  • Proficiency with analytics and tools required for measurement

  • A passion for games

  • A deep understanding of video game communities, as well as general understanding of PR and the video games industry as a whole

  • Basic knowledge and ability in digital image and editing tools is a plus
