The Land of the Dead: Unleashed
We are very excited to announce that, thanks to your contributions, the legendary Hall of Echoes will be a prominent location in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Below, Swen ventures into the Hall himself in search of a near-forgotten stranger from his past and invites the Larian team to join him…
Further in the video, you’ll find highlights of us playing the game with some of our favourite Twitch streamers! Swen’s had a blast (and gotten blasted) playing with the likes ofAra_Gaming, INDIE, and more! Worth the watch!
What is the Hall of Echoes?
A mysterious realm between reality and the Void, the Hall of Echoes is called a heaven by some, a hell by others. Upon their deaths, all souls all drawn toward the Hall; those who resist remain on Rivellon as undead. Souls successfully pulled into the Hall naturally drift toward the Forge, where they will be reborn, or the Void, where they will be consumed. Those who remain in the Hall face a pleasant reality, perhaps indescribable to mortal sensibilities. They must decide, or drift, of their own accord toward the Forge or the Void.
One of its most unique features is its ability to shift, chameleon-like, to suit the needs and desires of its visitors. When your party is eventually invited to the Hall, you’ll find that it may morph to suit your deepest desires, be they for a skill trader, a home for your companions, or perhaps a lost soul from your past…
What’s more, rumors hold that the Hall holds not only a portal to the Void, but also the gateway to the Gods themselves. Long have the Seven reigned over Rivellon, but eons have passed since they allowed a mortal into their realm…
Our next stretch goal involves Dedicated Mod Support, meaning we’ll hire a special team focused exclusively on enhancing, streamlining, and user-friendly-ifying the very powerful editor we used to create Divinity: Original Sin (the same we’re using for its sequel!).
Collector’s Edition Showdown: Save the Ouija Board?
We’ve been getting questions about why there’s a Ouija Board being offered as part of the Collector’s Edition, and the answer has to do with the centrality of Spirit Talking to Divinity: Original Sin 2 . Over the course of the campaign we’ve gotten a lot of feedback on the decision to include a Ouija Board, ranging from “cool!” to “boring” to “I really like the Collector’s Edition, but I’m going to burn/bury the Ouija Board in my back yard”.
Given the strength of opinion out there, we want to get as much feedback as possible. We’ve created a simple survey: If you were to back the Collector’s Edition, would you prefer a Ouija Board or a different collectable (comparable in value)? We’re not promising anything but we’ll definitely take your feedback into consideration if it proves to be overwhelming!
PayPal now available!
Another request we’ve had is for an option to pay with PayPal, and we’re pleased to say that this option is now available to all of you that don’t have access to credit cards! There is now a link to a PayPal page on the front page of our campaign, or you can click here!

We’d like to point our awesome backers in the direction of Plug In Digital Label’s Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan, an Action RPG based on African fantasy and mythology. Interested as we are in narrative and storycrafting, it’s very cool to see a fantasy game drawing from tales many of us haven’t yet heard. Featuring action-packed combat and a beautiful, vibrant art style, We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one!
