Kickstarter Update 6 – Get the lay of the land, ask the team, and get your add-ons. DevLine tomorrow!

Hello again, fair backers and friends! We come to you today eager to share all kinds of good news and to ask a few questions, too.

First, we’ll delve into one of the most important aspects of any game’s development: level design. In the following video, sit down with our art director Joachim who discusses how we’re building fantastical worlds we hope you’ll lose yourselves within.

All Skilled Up: Almost there!

Every hour brings us closer to our next stretch goal: Pick a Skill Tree II. We’re less than 50KUS$ away from getting those Polymorph skills in! (Or indeed, any other skill tier you may vote for!)

For a little refresher on what this stretch goal will mean for D:OS2, have a look at our Update #2.

Got your own ideas for some awesome new skill trees? Let us know in the comments! We’re paying close attention to everything we read and are compiling an enormous list.

M…More stretch goals?

We’re fast approaching the end of our list of stretch goals, but with 21 days left in our campaign, we’re preparing for the possibility of adding even MORE stretch goals to our campaign. Take to the comments to let us know what you’d like to see, and keep an eye on this page for further announcements!

Everything you always wanted to know, but were too afraid to ask…

If you’ve ever experienced a Larian DevLine, you know they’re a great chance to ask the team your most burning gaming questions. Tune in on Wednesday, September 9 at 12 p.m. PST/ Los Angeles (3 p.m. ET/ New York, 21h CEST/ Brussels, 22h Moscow) for Larian DevLine, where we will stand by to answer your questions about Kickstarter, the development of Divinity: Original Sin 2, and more!

Keep your eye on our Twitch channel to join in on the fun.

Add-ons: They’re here at last!

We’ve heard your queries for add-on pledges, and now we’re happy to announce that a full market of your most asked-for items will be available on our main page. Craving that hoodie? A hardcover Lore or Art Book? Here’s how it works:

We support adding extras to your pledge and give you one or more add-ons for it. This way you can customize your rewards. Here are your options:

$20.00 Cloth Map
$25.00  Hard cover Lore Book
$25.00  Hard cover Art Book
$25.00  Larian T-shirt
$25.00 Copy of Divinity: Original Sin- Enhanced Edition
$26.00 Copy of Divinity: Original Sin 2
$75.00  Divine Hoodie

So how does this work, exactly? After you pledge, add one (or more) of the listed amounts to your pledge. To do this after you have already pledged, click the “Manage Pledge” button and add the amount of the add-on to your pledge. Keep your selected reward tier.

Once this Kickstarter is over, we will contact you so you can specify what add-on(s) you wish to receive. Add-ons require a base pledge of $25.

If you add a physical add-on to a digital tier, please include $10 for shipping in the US or Canada, $15 for Europe, and $20 for the rest of the world.

Stuff we love

The very talented folks over at Airship Syndicate (ex-Vigil Games veterans, including two of Vigil’s co-founders, Joe Madureira and Ryan Stefanelli) have just launched their campaign forBattle Chasers: Nightwar, and it’s grown by $180,000 at the time of this update. Impressive! If you’re into RPGs, turn-based combat, and dungeon-divine, have a look at their page to grab your rewards before they’re all gone.

Are you there, women gamers? It’s us, Larian.

After noticing some startling trends in the gender split of visitors to our Kickstarter page (5% women vs 95% men according to Google Analytics), Swen put together a blog post exploring the reach of our campaign and what (if anything) demographic analytics can tell us.

There’s already been quite some debate and we came to a number of conclusions, but we’d love to hear from you to see if we missed something.

Check out the blog here.

PAX Panel- Classic CRPGS

This year at PAX, Swen joined a panel of CRPG-makers from Obsidian, DoubleBear Productions, Harebrained Schemes, and inXile to discuss the genre and its conventions, innovations, and future. Click below to have a listen to the audio (sorry, no video available!).
