Junior Gameplay Animator

Responsibilities

  • Create charming and believable in-game animations using motion capture and handkey animation.
  • Understand the requirements of the game and consistently adhere to the animation style of the production title.
  • Understand the pipeline and processes of our gameplay animation systems and how they fit into the game ecosystem.
  • Maintain high-quality animations through polish and bug fixing.
  • Collaborate with senior animators and peers to produce high-quality animations.
  • Clearly communicate any issues, blockers and needs to your lead.
  • Adhere to deadlines set by your lead and the production team.
  • Have good organisational and time management skills.

Requirements

  • 1 or 2 years of experience in the video game industry.
  • Experience in Autodesk Maya.
  • Experience in handling body mechanics.
  • Knowledge of animation fundamentals.
  • An understanding of gameplay animation and how it fits within a gamedev pipeline.
  • An understanding of game development processes.
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback.
  • Work well within a team environment.
  • Good communication skills in spoken and written English*
  • An active interest in video games, particularly in role-playing games
  • Willing to work full time onsite

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in working with motion capture animation and in the mocap volume
  • Experience working in a game engine (Unreal, Unity, proprietary)
  • Experience with implementing animations into a state machine
  • Experience with humanoid and creature animation
